ABOUT US
The Victoria Inn is the oldest bar in Naugatuck, CT. We believe it was built in the mid-1860s when it was known as the Union House. There is an advertisement in a 1870 local business directory offering food and lodging. The Naugatuck News published a liquor license application as early as 1899. After the flood of 1955 most records of the building were lost, but there are still rings in the stone wall in back where horses were once tethered.

In 1925 Victor & Victoria Siwanowicz purchased the property and renamed it The Victoria Inn. Years later their daughter Sophie married Matt Scully, and in 1958 took over the bar. They kept the name and it stayed a family business...casually referred to as The Vic. In 1981 Victor Siwanowicz and Mark Wasdo, both grandsons of Victor and Victoria, took over.

During renovations many of the original aspects of the bar were kept intact. The bar itself was stripped and refinished in the 1980s. The goal was to make a place where people can gather, enjoy good food, good company and relax.
